Wes Schweitzer was born on September 11, 1993. He attended Chaparral High School in Scottsdale, Arizona, where he was born on September 11, 1993, and graduated in 2011. In addition to playing football in high school, Schweitzer also competed in wrestling.
As a sophomore, he was named to the starting lineup and contributed to the team more than three consecutive state championships.

He attended San Jose State where he played college football before being selected by the Atlanta Falcons in the sixth round of the 2016 NFL Draft.
In 2011, Schweitzer chose San Jose State over offers from Air Force, Columbia, Hawaii, Idaho, New Mexico, and Utah State as a two-star prospect. He played in seven games as a true freshman while redshirting.
When Ron Caragher took over as head coach in 2013, Schweitzer started each of the 12 games at left tackle and contributed to the offence’s school-record average of 493.2 yards per game.
The Atlanta Falcons selected Schweitzer in the sixth round of the 2016 NFL Draft (195th overall). On May 5, Schweitzer agreed to a four-year deal with the Falcons. For the first 16 games of the 2017 season, Schweitzer started at right guard for the Falcons.
After losing the starting right guard position to Brandon Fusco in 2018, Schweitzer was demoted to swing guard and the backup centre position to start the season. After Andy Levitre suffered a season-ending injury in Week 3, he was designated the starting left guard and started 13 games there.
