He started his high school career at Dobyns-Bennett High School and finished it at Saint Ignatius High School. He was a member of the Kentucky Wildcats football team while he was a student at the University of Kentucky.

He participated in nine games and made two starts as a true freshman before starting all 13 of the Wildcats’ games at right tackle as a sophomore in 2019. Throughout the season, he had 32 knockdowns and just one penalty in 706 snaps.

He contributed to the breaking of school single-season records with 3,624 rushing yards, 36 rushing touchdowns, and 6.3 yards per carry.
