Eric Henderson started his coaching career in 2012. He has since coached over three college football teams and two NFL teams. He has been with the Rams since 2019. His coaching career started with Georgia Military College (2012) as an Outside linebackers coach, Oklahoma State (2013–2015) as a Graduate assistant, UTSA (2016) as a Defensive line coach, Los Angeles Chargers (2017–2018) as an Assistant defensive line coach, Los Angeles Rams (2019–2020) as a Defensive line coach, Los Angeles Rams (2021–present) as a Defensive line coach/run game coordinator.
Eric Henderson Career History As A Coach
Georgia Military College
Coach Henderson began his coaching career at Georgia Military College in 2012 as a defensive assistant for outside linebackers and defensive backs. Henderson aided the Bulldogs to a 7–4 record and a trip to the C.H.A.M.P.S. Heart of Texas Bowl appearance as a head coach.
Oklahoma State
At Oklahoma State in 2013, Henderson became a graduate assistant for two seasons (2013–14) before becoming a defensive quality control coach for the third (2015–16). The Cowboys went 27-12 and appeared in three bowl games during his three seasons in Stillwater.
Defensive tackle Emanuel Ogbah received All-America recognition, Big 12 Conference defensive player of the year honors, and a second-round NFL draft pick in 2016 thanks to Henderson’s support.
UTSA
During the 2016 season, Henderson served as Texas-San Antonio’s defensive line coach. Before playing New Mexico in the Gildan New Mexico Bowl, the Roadrunners finished the regular season with a 6-6 record.
Los Angeles Chargers
As a defensive line coach for the Los Angeles Chargers in 2017, Henderson was brought in as Anthony Lynn’s assistant. Melvin Ingram and Joey Bosa served as defensive coordinators for him during his two seasons with the Los Angeles Chargers.
Los Angeles Rams
As a defensive line coach for the Los Angeles Rams under head coach Sean McVay in 2019, Henderson was hired. Henderson was promoted to the position of run game coordinator in February 2021, while retaining his position as defensive line coach. When the Los Angeles Rams beat the Cincinnati Bengals in Super Bowl LVI, Henderson became a Super Bowl champion.
