Dean Junior Kremer is a Major League Baseball pitcher for the Baltimore Orioles. He was born in Israel and raised in the United States.
He was the first Israeli to be drafted by a Major League Baseball team in 2015. In September 2020, he made his MLB debut.
Kremer won a gold medal in the 2013 Maccabiah Games in Israel as a pitcher for Team USA baseball.
He competed for Israel in the European Baseball Championship qualifiers the next two years, winning the Most Valuable Pitcher title in 2014 and 2015.
In September 2016, he threw in a World Baseball Classic qualifier for Israel.
In his freshman year, 2014, Kremer was named to the Third Team All-American team for San Joaquin Delta College.
He was taken in the 38th round of the 2015 Major League Baseball draft by the San Diego Padres, making him the first Israeli to ever be drafted in the league, however, he declined to sign.
He was picked again in the 2016 Major League Baseball draft, this time by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 14th round, and he signed.
He threw a 92-95 mph fastball, a slider, a curveball, and a splitter, with the latter occasionally reaching 97 mph (156 km/h). In the 2017 World Baseball Classic, he pitched for Team Israel.
During the 2018 trade deadline, the Dodgers dealt him to the Orioles. Kremer has the most strikeouts in the minor leagues in 2018.
In September 2020, he made his Major League Baseball debut, becoming the first Israeli citizen to do so.
