Dean Kremer is an Israeli–American born professional baseball player who currently pitches for the Baltimore Orioles of Major League Baseball. Born January 7, 1996, in Stockton, California, United States, Dean started playing baseball in Little League as early as the age of five.
He started his non-professional career at Lincoln High School in Stockton, California. In high school, he played baseball for two seasons and he played as a right fielder and a pitcher during those seasons. After high school, he attended San Joaquin Delta College for his freshman year and he played college baseball till he became a full-time pitcher. He was named the California Community College Baseball Coaches Association’s Pitcher of the Week for the week ending April 5, 2015, and a 2015 Third Team All-American.
Dean later transferred to the University of Las Vegas (UNLV) on a baseball scholarship for his sophomore year in 2015. He played as a starting pitcher for the Rebels baseball of the University. That same year, he was drafted by the San Diego Padres team in the 38th round of the 2015 draft. This caused him to become the first Israeli to ever be selected in the MLB draft although he did not sign with them.
In the 2016 MLB draft, Dean was selected in the 14th round of the 431st overall pick by the Los Angeles Dodgers. He signed with the Dodgers for a signing bonus of $147,500. In July 2018, the Dodgers traded him to the Baltimore Orioles. He played in minor leagues for two years after which he was called up to the majors in September 2020.
