Jorge López was born on February 10, 1993, in Cayey, Puerto Rico. He plays professional baseball for the Baltimore Orioles baseball team of the Major League Baseball (MLB). He takes the position of a pitcher when on the field.
Jorge happened to be in the military academy in Puerto Rico when he was drafted out by the Milwaukee Brewers team. He was drafted by the Brewers in the second round of the 2011 MLB draft. After the draft, he signed with them and began playing in minor leagues for the team.
He split his 2012 baseball season into two and played with the Dominican Summer League Brewers and Gulf Coast Brewers. For the 2013 season, he played with the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers and in 2014, he pitched for the Brevard County Manatees.
During the 2015 seasons, Jorge played for the Biloxi Shuckers of the Class AA Southern League after which he made his MLB debut that year in September for the Milwaukee Brewers. He started the 2018 season with the Colorado Springs after which he was promoted to the major leagues by the Brewers in April 2018.
In July that year after his promotion, the Brewers traded him to the Kansas City Royals. By August 2020, he was claimed off waivers by the Baltimore Orioles and he has been with the Orioles till date.
