Zac Lowther was born April 30, 1996, in Middleburg Heights, Ohio. He plays professional baseball for the Baltimore Orioles. He plays the position of a pitcher for the team.
Zac attended Cuyahoga Heights High School in Cuyahoga Heights, Ohio where he played baseball for their baseball team. He played as a pitcher for the team. He also played on the varsity football team for two seasons whiles in high school.
After high school, Zac enrolled at Xavier University where he played college baseball for the Xavier Musketeers. During summer 2016, he played collegiate summer baseball for the Brewster Whitecaps of the Cape Cod Baseball League and he has been named a league All-Star. In 2017, he set a Xavier single-season record with 123 strikeouts and was named to the All-Big East Conference team.
In 2017, the Baltimore Orioles picked Zac in the second round, with the 74th overall selection, of the 2017 MLB draft. He signed with the Orioles and received a $779,500 signing bonus. There was no game to play in the 2020 baseball season due to the cancellation of the Minor League Baseball season because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Orioles added Zac to their 40-man roster in November 2020 and in April 2021, he was promoted to the major leagues for the first time. He made his MLB debut on 25th April 2021 when the Orioles played against the Oakland Athletics.
