Dillon Michael Tate is a Major League Baseball pitcher for the Baltimore Orioles in the United States. He attended the University of California, Santa Barbara, where he played baseball in college.

Tate was drafted by the Texas Rangers in the first round of the 2015 MLB draft and traded to the New York Yankees during the 2016 season.

The Orioles acquired him just before the trade deadline of 2018. In 2019, he made his Major League Baseball debut.

The Claremont High School in Claremont, California, was the final stop for Tate throughout his high school years.

As a freshman, he made the school’s baseball team, but he didn’t get a lot of time on the field. After that, he began training at the MLB Urban Youth Academy in Compton, California.

After graduating from high school, he was not drafted into the MLB.

University of California Santa Barbara – Santa Barbara Gauchos was the college baseball team that Tate attended.

Only the Gauchos and the Oral Roberts Golden Eagles offered Tate a scholarship in Division I.

He pitched three innings in four games as a rookie and had an earned run average of 9.00. (ERA).

By lifting weights during the summer, he increased his weight from 165 pounds (75 kilograms) to 200 pounds (91 kilograms).

He was the Gauchos’ closer as a sophomore, posting a 1.45 ERA, 12 saves, and 46 strikeouts in 46 innings.

While Tate was projected to be the team’s closer for his junior season in 2015, one of the team’s starters was sidelined with an injury.

It was his junior year where he threw 103+3 innings and earned a record of 8–5 with a 2.26 earned run average, with 111 strikeouts.
