J. B. Bukauskas, born Jacob Allen Bukauskas is a professional baseball player born to Ken Bukauskas and Lynn Bukauskas on October 11, 1996, in Ashburn, Virginia in the United States of America. He plays for the Arizona Diamondbacks baseball team and serves as a pitcher when on the field.
Bukauskas played baseball in high school at Stone Bridge High School in Ashburn. After high school, he enrolled at the University of North Carolina where he studied communications whiles playing college baseball for the school’s baseball team.
In 2017, he was drafted by the Houston Astros team during the 15th overall selection in the 2017 MLB draft. He signed with the Astros and then he started playing in minor leagues.
Bukauskas’s first minor league team was the Gulf Coast League(GCL) Astros. He played with them in the 2017 baseball season. For the 2018 baseball season, he played interchangeably for the GCL, the Valley Cats, the Quad Cities River Bandits, the Buies Creek Astros, and the Corpus Christi Hook.
The Astros traded him to the Arizona Diamondbacks team in 2019. He again played in minor league baseball for the Jackson Generals team. The Diamondbacks added him to their 40-man roster in November 2020. He was promoted to the major leagues in April 2021 and he made his MLB debut that same month for the Diamondbacks.
