Tyler Anderson plays professional baseball for the Los Angeles Dodgers baseball team in the Major League Baseball(MLB). Tyler positions as a pitcher and wears the number 31 jersey for the team.
Tyler was born and raised in Las Vegas in the United States of America. He attended Spring Valley High School in Las Vegas. He was drafted in high school by the Minnesota Twins in the 50th round of the 2008 MLB Draft, but he did not sign with them.
Tyler rather chose to go play college baseball at the University of Oregon where he majored in political science alongside playing college baseball for the school.
When Tyler graduated from college, the Colorado Rockies selected him during the first round of the 2011 MLB draft in the 20th overall selection. He signed with them and earned a signing bonus of $1.4 million.
Tyler was honoured when he was named a SAL Post-Season All-Star and the 6th-best prospect in the Rockies system by the MLB in 2012. He made his MLB debut in June 2016 for the Rockies.
In December 2019, Tyler signed a one year contract with the San Francisco Giants after he was rendered a free agent. Almost two years after being with the Giants, he signed a fresh one-year major league contract with the Pittsburgh Pirates in February 2021.
In July of that same year, Tyler was traded to the Philadelphia Phillies. In March 2022, he signed a one year contract worth $8 million with the Los Angeles Dodgers team.
