Walker Anthony Buehler is a Major League Baseball pitcher for the Los Angeles Dodgers in the United States.

He was a member of the 2014 College World Series championship team for the Vanderbilt Commodores in baseball.

Buehler was drafted 24th overall by the Dodgers out of Vanderbilt in the 2015 MLB draft and made his MLB debut in 2017. In 2019 and 2021, he was an All-Star, and he helped the Dodgers win the World Series in 2020.

Throughout his childhood, Buehler has heard the famous roll call scene from the 1986 film Ferris Bueller’s Day Off numerous times.

During the 2018 MLB Players Weekend, Buehler adopted the nickname “Ferris,” incorporating it into his Twitter account and wearing it on his shirt. For the 2019 MLB Players Weekend, he adopted the nickname “Buetane.”

Buehler is a horse racing fanatic who grew up in Lexington, Kentucky, the “Horse Capital of the World,” home to the Kentucky Horse Park, The Red Mile, and Keeneland race tracks.

He owns a small stake in Authentic, the 2020 Kentucky Derby and Breeders’ Cup Classic winner trained by Bob Baffert. Buehler saw Authentic win the Breeders’ Cup Classic at Keeneland in 2020.

Buehler and McKenzie Marcinek, a high school sweetheart, were engaged in 2011. In Lexington, KY, they acquired a house with a French bulldog named Nala.
