Walker Anthony Buehler was on born July 28, 1994, Walker is a Major League Baseball pitcher who currently plays for the Los Angeles Dodgers (MLB).
He played collegiate baseball with the Vanderbilt Commodores, where he was a member of the team that won the College World Series in 2014.
Buehler was drafted 24th overall by the Dodgers in the 2015 MLB Draft out of Vanderbilt, and he made his MLB debut in 2017. He was an All-Star in both 2019 and 2021, and he helped the Dodgers win the World Series in 2020.
Before the 2021 season, Buehler became eligible for salary arbitration for the first time. On February 10, he agreed to terms with the Dodgers on a two-year, $8 million contract.
Buehler won his seventh game of the season on June 20, tying Kirby Higbe for the Dodgers team record of 23 straight starts without a defeat dating back to the 2019 season. He was a 2021 National League All-Star and the NL Pitcher of the Month in July 2021.
Buehler went 16–4 (.800; second in the NL) in 2021, with a 2.47 ERA (3rd) with 212 strikeouts (7th). His 16 victories ranked third in the league.
