Vesia was born to Bob and Cindy in Alpine, California. He went to Steele Canyon High School in Spring Valley, California, and played baseball there. In 2014, he was named All-East County as a senior.
He attended California State University, East Bay, where he played collegiate baseball after being undrafted in the 2014 Major League Baseball draft.
Vesia started 12 games as a freshman at Cal State East Bay in 2015, finishing 5–4 with a 2.18 ERA over 74+ innings and earning CCA Freshman of the Year accolades.
Vesia signed with Miami and debuted with the Gulf Coast League Marlins before being promoted to the Batavia Muckdogs.
He finished 4–0 with a 1.35 ERA and 38 strikeouts in 33+13 bullpen innings with the two organizations. Vesia began the 2018 season with the Clinton LumberKings before being promoted to the Jupiter Hammerheads in June and the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp in August.
He finished 7–2 with a 1.76 ERA and 100 strikeouts in 66+23 bullpen innings thrown between the three organizations. Following the season, he was picked to play for the Salt River Rafters in the Arizona Fall League and was named a Fall League All-Star.
