Austin Scott Barnes, born On December 28, 1989, is an American Major League Baseball catcher for the Los Angeles Dodgers (MLB). He was a member of the Arizona State Sun Devils throughout his collegiate career.
Barnes was drafted in the eighth round of the 2011 Major League Baseball draft by the Florida Marlins. He made his MLB debut with the Dodgers in 2015 and was instrumental in the team’s World Series victory in 2020. Barnes has also played infielder in addition to catching.
Barnes went on to play collegiate baseball at Arizona State University after graduating from Riverside Poly. During his first year, he didn’t play much.
