Hanser Joel Alberto Pea is a Dominican professional baseball infielder for the Major League Baseball Baltimore Orioles, born on October 17, 1992. He was previously with the Texas Rangers.
Alberto signed with the Texas Rangers as an international free agent in November 2009, getting a $7,000 signing bonus.
In 2010, he earned the batting title while playing for the Dominican Summer Rangers of the Rookie-level Dominican Summer League.
Alberto began the 2013 season with the Class AA Texas League’s Frisco RoughRiders, but failed and was relegated to the Class A-Advanced Carolina League’s Myrtle Beach Pelicans.
In 2014, he returned to Frisco and earned the Rawlings Minor League Gold Glove Award as the best defensive shortstop in the minor leagues.
On April 7, 2019, Alberto was called upon as a relief pitcher in the ninth inning of a 15–3 defeat to the New York Yankees at Camden Yards.
With the score 13–3, he struck out a batter, gave up a two-run homer, walked two, then got a force out and two flyouts.
On August 30, 2019, he joined teammates Renato Nez and Anthony Santander as the third Oriole in three weeks to have his first-ever five-hit game in a 14–2 triumph over the Kansas City Royals at Kauffman Stadium.
