Freddie Freeman is a professional baseball player serving as a first baseman for the Los Angeles Dodgers baseball team. He was born September 12, 1989, in Fountain Valley in California to Canadian parents, Fred and Rosemary Freeman.
Freddie played baseball at El Modena High School where he was also a student. He played as both a third baseman and a pitcher. In 2007, he was named the 2007 player of the year by the Orange County Register.
After high school, Freddie applied for a baseball scholarship at the California State University in Fullerton. He wanted to play college baseball there but after he was drafted by the Atlanta Braves in the 2nd round of the 2007 MLB draft, he decided to forgo going to college and signed with the Braves.
He received a signing bonus of $409,500 after which he made his professional debut playing for the Gulf Coast Braves. In September 2010 Freddie made his MLB debut for the Atlanta Braves.
Freddie was with the Braves till 2021 when his contract expired. He then signed a six-year contract worth $162 million with the Los Angeles Dodgers in March 2022.

Freddie Freeman has three sons. His first son, Frederick Charles Freeman II was born in 2016.
