Adbert Alzolay was born in Guayana City, Venezuela on March 1, 1995, Alzolay is a Venezuelan professional baseball pitcher for the Major League Baseball Chicago Cubs.
He signed as an international free agent with the Cubs in November 2012. He made his professional debut in 2013 with the Venezuelan Summer League Cubs, where he played the whole season, with a 5-3 record and 1.07 ERA in 15 games.
In 2014, he pitched for the Arizona League Cubs and the Boise Hawks, going 2-5 with a 7.90 ERA in ten games for both organizations. In 2015, he went 6-2 with a 2.04 ERA for the Eugene Emeralds, and in 2016, he went 9-4 with a 4.34 ERA in 22 games for the South Bend Cubs (twenty starts).
On June 20, 2019, Alzolay was called up to the major leagues for the first time. He made his MLB debut that night against the New York Mets, striking out five hitters in four innings of relief.
In 2020, Alzolay pitched in six games with the Cubs, finishing 1-1 with a 2.95 ERA and 29 strikeouts in 21.1 innings.
