Who is Anderson Espinoza?
Anderson José Espinoza is a Venezuelan Major League Baseball pitcher for the Chicago Cubs.
Prior to being purchased by the San Diego Padres in July 2016, Espinoza pitched in the Boston Red Sox development system.
It was not until May 2021 that he returned to the field after having Tommy John surgery in both 2017 and 2019.
In July of that year, he was traded to the Chicago Cubs. Seen as 6 feet 0 inches (1.83 m) and 160 pounds (73 kg), he is listed as a right-handed pitcher and batter.
A solid three-pitch mix and advanced pitchability, according to baseball scouts, were displayed by Espinoza at the age of 17, who was able to repeat his delivery and throw strikes with greater ease than the average pitcher of his age.
While pitching in the low 90s and reaching speeds of 94 miles per hour (151 kilometers per hour), he showed the ability to throw even harder as he matured.
In addition to a sinking changeup as his third pitch option, he had two other secondary pitches: a fast curveball that reached 71–73 mph (114–117 km/h) and a sinking changeup.
With his quick arm and flawless mechanics, he was able to throw his pitches with the utmost ease.
