Anderson José Espinoza is a professional baseball player born in Venezuela on March 9, 1998. He plays the position of a pitcher for the Chicago Cubs baseball team in the Major League Baseball.
In October 2014, Anderson was signed as an international free agent by the Boston Red Sox baseball team. He was given an amount of $1.8 million as a signing bonus together with a $200,000 scholarship money.
Anderson was ranked number 10 on MLB.com’s best baseball players list. He was also ranked number four on Baseball America’s international amateur prospect and top-ranked pitcher.
After two years of playing for the Red Sox, he was traded in July 2016 to the San Diego Padres in exchange for another pitcher called Drew Pomeranz. Anderson could play during the 2017 baseball season as he had an elbow injury.
He was placed on the injury list that season after he underwent a Tommy John surgery. He was not allowed to play in the 2018 season either as he had not fully recovered.
