Codi Dalton Heuer is a Major League Baseball pitcher for the Chicago Cubs in the United States. He attended Wichita State University and played baseball there.
Previously, he was a member of the Chicago White Sox. In 2020, he made his MLB debut.
Originally from Montana, Heuer relocated to Colorado before beginning high school, where he grew up in the town of Fort Collins.
Fossil Ridge High School in Fort Collins, Colorado, was the next stop for him after the move. A complete game shutout with 17 strikeouts in his senior year in 2015 set a school record for the most strikeouts in one game.
He was not selected in the 2015 Major League Baseball draft and instead enrolled at Wichita State University, where he competed for the Shockers in college baseball.
A freshman at Wichita State in 2016, he appeared in 21 games (including two starts), going 1–1 with a 9.12 earned run average in 24+23 innings, then as a sophomore in 2017, he went 2–2 with a 4.42 earned run average in 38+23 innings, both career bests.
Wichita State’s Friday night starter during his junior season, he went 6–5 with a 4.31 earned run average over 16 games during the year 2018. (15 starts).
