Chris Martin, real name Christopher Riley Martin is a professional baseball player from America who plays for the Chicago Cubs baseball team as a pitcher. He was born and raised in Arlington, Texas on June 2, 1986, to Connie and Matt Martin. Chris is 2.0m tall and weighs 98kg.
Chris is the last born out of four siblings. His older siblings were softball players whiles growing up. Chris started his baseball amateur career at Arlington High School in Arlington, Texas. He pitched for the school’s baseball team throughout his education.
During his senior year in high school, the Detroit Tigers baseball team selected him in the 18th round of the 2004 MLB draft but he did not sign with them and rather enrolled at McLennan Community College, where he played college baseball for the McLennan Highlanders.
When Chris graduated from college, the Fort Worth Cats of the United League Baseball signed him for the 2007 baseball season. In 2013, Chris was with the Colorado Rockies. He made his MLB debut for the Rockies in April 2014 after he was promoted to the major leagues.
The following year, the Rockies traded him to the New York Yankees. He was with the Yankees till December 2017 when he signed a two-year contract worth $4 million with the Texas Rangers.
Chris signed a one-year contract worth $2.5 million with the Chicago Cubs in March 2022.
