Wade Miley is one of the professional baseball pitchers who play for the Chicago Cubs baseball team. He was November 13, 1986, in Hammond, Louisiana in the United States of America.
Wade was a student at Loranger High School. During his time there, he played baseball non professionally for the school’s baseball team. When he graduated from high school, he enrolled at Southeastern Louisiana University where he played college baseball for the Southeastern Louisiana Lions baseball team.
He was named a league All-Star in 2007 when he played collegiate summer baseball with the Wareham Gatemen of the Cape Cod Baseball League. In 2008, the Arizona Diamondbacks selected him in the first round of the 2008 MLB draft.
He signed with them and began his professional baseball career playing with the Yakima Bears of the Class A-Short Season Northwest League. The Diamondbacks called him up to the major leagues in August 2011.
The Diamondbacks traded him to the Boston Red Sox in 2014. A year later, the Red Sox traded him to the Seattle Mariners. The Mariners also traded him in 2016 to the Baltimore Orioles.
Wade signed a minor league deal with the Milwaukee Brewers in 2018. In 2019, the Houston Astros signed a one-year contract worth $4.5 million with him. In November, the Chicago Cubs claimed Wade off waivers into their team.
