Alec Thomas Mills is a Major League Baseball pitcher for the Chicago Cubs in the United States.
Mills was drafted in the 22nd round of the 2012 Major League Baseball draft by the Kansas City Royals. He was previously with the Kansas City Royals.
The Montgomery Central High School in Cunningham, Tennessee, was where Mills received his education. At the University of Tennessee at Martin, he competed as a walk-on pitcher in collegiate baseball.
In 2010, 2011, and 2012, Mills attended UT Martin. A walk-on relief pitcher as a freshman, he went 2-3 with an 8.51 earned run average, then moved to a setup reliever as a sophomore, going 7-4 with a 6.82 earned run average, and finally to a starting pitcher as a junior, finishing 6-6 with 3.94 earned run average.
As a member of the Skyhawks’ first-ever OVC Tournament-winning team in 2011, Mills recorded seven victories and three saves in 30 appearances for the Skyhawks.

The 2013 season was his first with the Lexington Legends, followed by seasons with Idaho Falls and Lexington before finishing his career in Wilmington in 2015. Afterward, the Royals added him to their 40-man roster.
