In his first season of professional baseball, Wick was a catcher for the St. Louis Cardinals.
He played with the Gulf Coast Cardinals of the Class A Gulf Coast League and has had an overall .156 batting average across 23 games. In the course of the season, he surrendered a total of 12 passed balls.

While pitching for the Palm Beach Cardinals and Springfield Cardinals in 2016, he had an overall record of 2–0 with an earned run average of 2.44.
He also walked 20 times and fanned 57 times in 44.1 innings. During the Arizona Fall League season, the Cardinals assigned Wick to the Glendale Desert Dogs and signed him to their 40-man roster.
He pitched to a 4.50 ERA for the Desert Dogs.
