Nicklaus Michael Madrigal, professionally known as Nick Madrigal is an American born baseball player with the Chicago Cubs baseball team. Nick plays as a second baseman for the team and earns an annual salary of $716,500 per his contract with the Cubs.

Nick was born and raised in California on March 5, 1997. He had his non-professional baseball career at Elk Grove High School in Elk Grove, California. He was drafted after high school by the Cleveland Indians in the 17th round of the 2015 MLB draft but he chose to attend Oregon State University so he did not sign with the Indians.

He played college baseball for the Beavers at the University. He was drafted in the 2018 MLB by the Chicago White Sox. He signed with them and received $6,411,400 as a signing bonus. He started his professional career that year after he was assigned to the Arizona League White Sox before being promoted to play for both the Kannapolis Intimidators and the Winston-Salem Dash.

Nick made his MLB debut on July 31, 2020, for the White Sox and in July 2021, the Chicago Cubs purchased his contract from the White Sox.

Nick Madrigal has a twin brother who also plays baseball. He is called Ty Madrigal. He attended Saint Mary’s College of California where he played college baseball for the team.

Ty signed with the Chicago White Sox as an undrafted free agent in June 202 and he is still with the White Sox even today.
