Kervin Castro, born Kervin Alexander Castro is a professional baseball player with the San Francisco Giants baseball team who plays in the position of a pitcher. He is of Venezuelan descent and had his non-professional career in Venezuela. He is 6 inches tall and weighs 84kg.
He was born and raised in Venezuela on February 7, 1999, in a town called Maracay. Kervin Castro signed with the San Francisco Giants as an international free agent in 2015. Upon signing with them, he received a signing bonus of $100,000 from the Giants.
After he signed with the Giants, he made his professional debut by playing as a pitcher for the Rookie-level DSL Giants in the Dominican Summer League. He could not play any game during the 2017 baseball season as he got injured so he underwent a Tommy John surgery.
Kervin missed some games in the 2017 season as he had not fully recovered from his injury. By 2019, he had recovered so he spent the season playing in both a mid-season and post-season for the Northwest League All-Star and the Class A Short Season Salem-Keizer Volcanoes.
When the 2020 baseball season was over, he was added to the Giant’s 40-man roster. He spent the 2021 season playing for the Triple-A West Sacramento River Cats and the major league Giants.
On September 6, 2021, the Giants called him up to the major leagues and he made his MLB debut the next day when the Giants played against the Colorado Rockies.
