Curt Casali, real name Curtis Michael Casali with the nickname Cas, plays professional baseball as a catcher for the San Francisco Giants baseball team of the Major League Baseball. He was born on November 9, 1988, in Walnut Creek, California the United States.
He played high school baseball for the New Canaan High School where he was a student. He then enrolled at Vanderbilt University where he played college baseball. He was drafted after college by the Detroit Tigers in the 10th round of the 2011 MLB draft.
He signed with the Tigers for a $40,000 signing bonus. He then began his professional baseball in 2012 when he played for West Michigan and the Class A+ Lakeland Flying Tigers. The Tigers traded him in March 2013 to Tampa Bay Rays.
The Rays made him play for the Class A+ Charlotte Stone Crabs and promoted him to the Class AA Montgomery Biscuits later that season. He was invited to Ray’s spring training in 2014.
The Rays called him up to the majors on July 18, 2014, when he made his first major league game debut against the Minnesota Twins. In January 2018, Curt signed a minor league contract with the Texas Rangers who released him after just two months of being with them.
The San Francisco Giants and Curt agreed on a one-year contract worth $1.5 million at the beginning of 2021.
