Brandon Belt is one of the professional baseball players with the San Francisco Giants baseball team. He plays as a first baseman for the team. He is 1.91 m tall and weighs 105 kg.
Brandon played baseball when he was a student at Hudson High School in Hudson, Texas. He played as both a pitcher and an outfielder for the team. The Boston Red Sox selected him in the 11th round of the 2006 MLB draft but he chose to play college baseball after he was refused a signing bonus.
He played college baseball for the San Jacinto College and later transferred to the University of Texas, where he continued to play for the Texas Longhorns. He was drafted in the 2009 MLB draft by the San Francisco Giants in the fifth round of the draft.
He signed with the Giants and received a signing bonus of $200,000. The Giants then assigned him to kick start his professional career that same season by playing with the High-A Giants affiliate in San Jose. In March 2011, the Giants promoted him to the major leagues after which he made his MLB debut for the Giants.
