Luke Williams is the son of Mark and Jeannie Williams. He is the eldest of three siblings, including two brothers and a sister. After being born in Park Ridge, Illinois, Williams grew up in Orange County, California.
He attended Dana Hills High School, where he participated in baseball, football, and track and field. Williams stole 26 bases in his junior season, breaking the Dana Hills school record.
Williams did not play in any games in 2020 since the minor league season was canceled due to the COVID-19 outbreak. In the Australian league’s winter league, he played for the Adelaide Giants.
Williams was selected the best overall player in the Phillies’ minor league system heading into the 2021 season, and he was sent to the AAA Lehigh Valley IronPigs.
Williams is a utility player who enjoys playing in a number of positions, making him a valuable bench player for the Philadelphia Phillies.
