Darin Ruf is an American born professional baseball player who was born July 28, 1986, in Omaha, Nebraska in the United States of America. He is the second born of his parents and is married to Libby Schuring with whom he has two kids.
Darin currently plays for the San Francisco Giants baseball team and plays as a first baseman and an outfielder for the team. He is 1.88m tall and wears the number 33 jersey when on the field.
He non professionally played baseball when he was a student at Westside High School. He was the team’s captain and is known to have helped the team win a Nebraska state championship.
Darin later attended Creighton University upon completion of his high school education and career where he played college baseball for the University’s baseball team.
In 2009, he was drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies baseball team in the 20th round of the 2009 MLB draft. He then began playing baseball professionally from then. He made his MLB debut in September 2012 for the Philadelphia Phillies.
In January 2020, Darin left the Phillies and signed a minor league contract with the San Francisco Giants. In March 2022, his contract was renewed and he signed a two-year contract worth $6.25 million for the Giants.
