Ian Anderson is known to be a professional baseball pitcher who pitches for the Atlanta Braves baseball team of the Major League Baseball(MLB). Ian has an identical twin brother called Ben Anderson who also plays baseball.
Ian is from Clifton Park in New York and was born May 2, 1998. Ian’s career as a baseball player began when he attended Shenendehowa High School in Clifton Park, New York. He played for the school’s team and in August 2015, he played in Perfect Game All-American Classic at Petco Park and also played for the 18U National Team and won the World Cup that year.
When he finished high school, he furthered his education by enrolling in Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. He played college baseball on the Vanderbilt Commodores baseball team.
The Atlanta Braves team selected Ian in the third overall pick of the 2016 MLB draft and signed him to the team for a $4 million signing bonus. He made his professional debut with the GCL Braves and was later promoted to the Danville Braves in August 2016.
In 2020, the Braves invited Ian to their spring training and in August 2020, the Braves promoted him to the major leagues for the first time after which his contract was selected to the active roster. He also made his MLB debut that same day.
