Ian Anderson is a professional baseball pitcher who plays for the Atlanta Braves baseball team of the Major League Baseball(MLB). Ian wears the number 36 jersey when on the field. He has an identical twin brother called Ben Anderson who is also a baseball player.
Ian was born May 2 1998 at Clifton Park in New York. He began playing baseball in high school, that is, the Shenendehowa High School in Clifton Park, New York. In August 2015, Ian was called to play in the Perfect Game All-American Classic at Petco Park and was also made to play for the 18U National Team.
After his high school education and career, Ian enrolled in Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee where he played college baseball for the Vanderbilt Commodores baseball team.
The Atlanta Braves team selected Ian in the third overall pick of the 2016 MLB draft and signed him to the team for a $4 million signing bonus. He made his professional debut with the GCL Braves and was later promoted to the Danville Braves in August 2016.
In 2020, the Braves invited Ian to their spring training and in August 2020, the Braves promoted him to the major leagues for the first time after which his contract was selected to the active roster. He also made his MLB debut that same day.
