Luke Ray Jackson, born August 24, 1991, is an American Major League Baseball pitcher for the Atlanta Braves. The Texas Rangers selected him in the first round, 45th overall, in the 2010 Major League Baseball draft.
He made his MLB debut with the Rangers in 2015. In Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Jackson attended Calvary Christian Academy. He was 8-1 with a 0.90 ERA as a senior.
After his senior year, he was picked in the first round, 45th overall, by the Texas Rangers in the 2010 Major League Baseball draft.
He joined the Rangers instead of playing collegiate baseball at the University of Miami. He made his professional debut for the Hickory Crawdads in 2011.
Jackson began the season with Hickory before being promoted to the High-A Myrtle Beach Pelicans throughout the season. He was 10–7 with a 4.65 ERA across the two teams.
He began 2013 with Myrtle Beach. During the season, he was promoted to the Double-A Frisco RoughRiders. He was selected the Nolan Ryan Minor League Pitcher of the Year at the end of the season. He returned to Frisco at the start of 2014. Later, he was promoted to the Triple-A Round Rock Express.
Jackson began the 2015 season with Round Rock. On August 6, 2015, he got called up to the major leagues for the first time. He was sent back to Round Rock on August 11, however, before he could make a debut with the Rangers. The Rangers again promoted Jackson to the major leagues on September 1
