34-year-old Collin Alexander McHugh, an American professional baseball pitcher for the Atlanta Braves of Major League Baseball, was born on June 19, 1987.
He was a member of the New York Mets, Colorado Rockies, Houston Astros, and Tampa Bay Rays in the past. On June 18, 2013, the Mets traded McHugh to the Colorado Rockies in exchange for outfielder Eric Young Jr.
McHugh pitched in four games for the 2013 Rockies, all starts, and went 0–3 with a 9.95 ERA. On December 16, 2013, he was assigned to a task. The Houston Astros claimed McHugh off waivers on December 18, 2013.
[10] In 2014, he had 11 victories and a 2.73 ERA, which was the best on the squad. McHugh was second in the American League in victories in 2015, with 19, trailing teammate Dallas Keuchel’s 20. He made a career-high 33 starts in 2016, going 13–10 with a 4.34 ERA in 184+2/3 innings.
McHugh was named to the MLB All-Stars for the 2018 MLB Japan All-Star Series on October 29, 2018. In Athens, Georgia, McHugh married long term girlfriend Ashley Buzzy in 2009. In December 2015, the couple had their first child, a son called Elder.
In 2019, McHugh launched “The Twelve Six Podcast,” a podcast in which he interviews other MLB players to highlight the human aspect of the game.
