Charlie Morton, real name Charles Alfred Morton IV plays baseball professionally for the Atlanta Braves baseball team of Major League Baseball(MLB). He plays as a pitcher and has a height of 1.95m.
Charlie was a student at Joel Barlow High School in Redding, Connecticut. He played baseball for the school team till he graduated in 2002. That same year, the Atlanta Braves selected him in the 3rd round of the 2002 MLB draft. He kicked off his professional career that season with the GCL Braves. In 2003, he was assigned to play for the Danville Braves. He spent the entire 2004 and 2005 minor league seasons playing for the Rome Braves.
Charlie was added to the Brave’s 40-man roster in November 2007 and was called up to the majors in 2008 where he made his MLB debut on June 14 when the Braves played against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.
He played for the Pittsburgh Pirates after the Braves traded his contract to them in 2009. The Houston Astros signed a two-year contract worth $14 million with him in November 2016. He returned to the Braves in November 2020 after they signed a one-year contract of $15 million with him. His contract with the Braves was extended in September 2021.
