Génesis Cabrera is one of the professional baseball players with the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team of the Major League Baseball. Génesis is from the Dominican Republic and plays as a pitcher for the Cardinals. He is 1.88m tall.
He was born and raised in Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic. In 2013, he was signed by the Tampa Bay Rays as an international free agent. He was assigned to play with the Dominican Summer League Rays in 2014 to make his professional debut.
In 2015, he played for the Princeton Rays and in 2016, he played for the Bowling Green Hot Rods with whom he was named a Midwest League All-Star. During the 2017 season, he played for both the Charlotte Stone Crabs and the Montgomery Biscuits. In 2018, he was named to the Southern League All-Star.
He was traded to the St. Louis Cardinals team in July 2018 after which he was assigned to the Springfield Cardinals. The Cardinals added him to their 40-man roster before the beginning of the 2019 baseball season. The Cardinals promoted him to the major leagues in May 2019 and he made his MLB debut that day when the Cardinals played against the Philadelphia Phillies.
