Jordan Hicks is an American professional baseball pitcher for the St. Louis Cardinals of Major League Baseball (MLB). He was drafted by the Cardinals in the third round of the 2015 MLB draft.
As an 18-year-old from Cypress Creek High School, Hicks was picked third overall in the 2015 Major League Baseball Draft by the St. Louis Cardinals and signed with them for $600,000.
While playing for the Rookie Appalachian League’s Johnson City Cardinals in 2016, he was promoted to the Class A Short Season New York–Penn League’s State College Spikes. He went 6–2 with a 2.97 ERA in 12 starts between the two teams.
Peoria Chiefs of the Class A Midwest League named Hicks to the All-Star game in 2017 for his performance in the Midwest League.
When he was promoted to the Class A-Advanced Florida State League in July, he was 0–1 with one save and 32 strikeouts in 27 innings for the Palm Beach Cardinals of the Florida State League.
There were 22 games and 19 starts in which Hicks had an 8–3 record and an ERA of 2.74 across the two teams in 2017.
