Alexander Reyes, Alex Reyes for short is a Dominican–American professional baseball player known to play in the major leagues for the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team. His height is 1.90 m and his weight is 100 kg.
Alex was born to Dominican parents Tomás, Sr., and Dignora Reyes on August 29, 1994, in Elizabeth, New Jersey in the USA. He attended Elizabeth High School in New Jersey and later moved to the Dominican Republic in December 2011 when he was 18 years to gain the attention of baseball scouts to increase his chances of signing with a Major League Baseball (MLB) team as a free agent instead of as an amateur draft of he days in the USA.
The St Louis Cardinals signed him as a free agent in December 2012 for a bonus of $950,000. He made his professional debut in 2013 as he was assigned to play with the Johnson City Cardinals of the Appalachian League. He was ranked by Baseball America as the seventh-best prospect in the Cardinals team at the end of the 2013 season.
For the 2014 minor league season, he was with the Single-A Peoria Chiefs of the Midwest League. The Cardinals added him to the major league roster in August 2016 and he made his MLB debut that day for the Cardinals.
