Andrew Robert Knizner (born February 3, 1995) is a Major League Baseball catcher who currently plays for the St. Louis Cardinals.
Knizner signed with the St. Louis Cardinals and made his professional debut with the Johnson City Cardinals, hitting.319 with six home runs and 42 RBIs in 53 games. He was chosen to the Appalachian League All-Star team during the postseason.
He began 2017 with the Peoria Chiefs and played in the Midwest League All-Star Game as the starting catcher. He was promoted from the High-A Palm Beach Cardinals to the Double-A Springfield Cardinals in June.
Knizner had a combined.302 hitting average with 12 home runs and 51 RBIs in 95 games between the two teams in 2017, including a.324 batting average in 51 games with Springfield.
Knizner was sent to the Surprise Saguaros of the Arizona Fall League after the season. He was named the AFL Hitter of the Week after recording eight hits, two home runs, and five RBIs in 17 at-bats during the first week of the season, and he was picked to play in the Fall Stars Game.
