Brendan Michael Donovan is a professional baseball infielder who was born on January 16, 1997, he currently plays for the St. Louis Cardinals.
Donovan made his professional debut with the State College Spikes of the New York–Penn League’s Class A Short Season, appearing in four games.
He batted.268 with eight home runs and 53 RBIs in 114 games for the Peoria Chiefs of the Class A Midwest League and appeared in one game for the Memphis Redbirds of the Class AAA Pacific Coast League in 2019. Due to the cancellation of the 2020 season due to the COVID-19 epidemic, he did not play for a minor league team.
He began 2021 with Peoria (now in the High-A Central) before being promoted to the Springfield Cardinals of the Double-A Central in early June and Memphis (now in the Triple-A East) in mid-August. He hit.304/.399/.455 with 12 home runs and 66 RBIs in 108 games for the three clubs.
Following the season in which he was named to the Fall Stars Game, Donovan was picked to play for the Glendale Desert Dogs in the Arizona Fall League. On November 19, 2021, he was added to the 40-man roster following the season. Donovan returned to Memphis at the start of the 2022 season.
