Edmundo Sosa (born March 6, 1996) is a Panamanian Major League Baseball shortstop for the St. Louis Cardinals (MLB). Sosa signed as an international free agent with the St. Louis Cardinals in July 2012.
In 2013, he made his professional debut with the Dominican Summer League Cardinals, where he lasted the whole season, batting.314 with three home runs and 27 RBIs in 47 games.
He batted.274 with one home run and 23 RBIs in 55 games for both the Gulf Coast Cardinals and the State College Spikes in 2014, and he batted.300/.369/.485 with seven home runs and 16 RBIs in 49 games for the Johnson City Cardinals in 2015.
Sosa was a member of Panama’s national baseball squad in the 2017 World Baseball Classic qualifiers 2016. Sosa played in 2016 with both the Peoria Chiefs, for whom he was selected a Midwest League All-Star, and the Palm Beach Cardinals, batting.270 with three home runs and 34 RBIs in 97 games with both organizations.
