Patrick was born on October 14, 1993, in Springfield, Massachusetts in the United States of America. He attended Stetson University after high school where he played college baseball for the baseball team. He also played collegiate summer baseball for the Cotuit Kettleers of the Cape Cod Baseball League (CCBL) in 2013 and 2014, he played for the Chatham Anglers.
During the 2015 MLB draft, Patrick was drafted by the New York Mets in the 8th round of the draft. He was assigned to play with the Kingsport Mets that year to make his professional debut. He spent the 2016 minor league season with the Columbia Fireflies and in 2017, he played for the St. Lucie Mets at the beginning of the season and later played for the Binghamton Rumble Ponies.
Patrick played for the Binghamton Rumble Ponies throughout the 2018 season. He made his MLB debut on May 5, 2021, after he was called up to the majors for the third time.
