Robinson Canó Children: Meet Robinson Canó Son, Robinson Miguel Cano Castro

Robinson Canó

Robinson José Canó Mercedes (born October 22, 1982) is a Dominican-American professional baseball second baseman for the San Diego Padres of Major League Baseball (MLB).  He has previously played in MLB for the New York Yankees, Seattle Mariners, and New York Mets.

A native of San Pedro de Macorís, Dominican Republic, Canó signed with the Yankees organization as an amateur free agent in 2001. He played for the Yankees from 2005 to 2013, winning a World Series championship in 2009.

In December 2013, Canó signed a 10-year, USD$240 million contract with the Mariners, and he played for them from 2014 to 2018, when he was traded to the Mets.

Canó recorded 1,695 hits in the 2010s, the most of any major league player during that decade. He is an eight-time MLB All-Star, a five-time Silver Slugger Award winner, and a two-time Gold Glove Award winner. Canó is also the 2017 All-Star Game MVP and the 2011 Home Run Derby winner.

On November 18, 2020, Canó was suspended for 162 games after testing positive for Stanozolol in violation of MLB’s performance-enhancing drugs policy, rendering him ineligible for the entire 2021 season. This was his second time testing positive for a PED.

Robinson Canó was previously involved with his then-girlfriend Jackelin Castro. Robinson and Jackelin’s relationship produced a son, Robinson Miguel Canó Castro.

According to Castro, the baseball player abandoned her when she became pregnant. She also added that all the negative press had damaged her and that the entire affair had put her name into question, which was unfair because she had an honest connection with Canó.
