Aaron Nola plays for the Philadelphia Phillies of Major League Baseball as he throws right and bats with his right hand.

The Toronto Blue Jays of Major League Baseball (MLB) picked Aaron and Austin Nola in the 2011 MLB Draft.

Aaron chose to attend Louisiana State University (LSU), where his brother was a senior, rather than sign with the Blue Jays.

Nola was a Sports Management major at LSU, and she shared a room with Alex Bregman.

After tossing 78 pitches in a 5–0 shutout against Tulane, Nola gave up five runs in the first inning against Mississippi State in his Southeastern Conference (SEC) debut.

He bounced back fast, pitching five shutout innings, a turnaround that impressed LSU pitching coach Alan Dunn, who said it “gave us a glimpse of how good Aaron could be”.

Paul Mainieri, the head coach, “made a commitment that day that Nola was going to be a starter on the weekend,” a role that would see him pitch primarily in conference games.
