Michael Francisco Pineda Paulino (born January 18, 1989) is a Dominican Major League Baseball pitcher for the Detroit Tigers (MLB). He has played for the Seattle Mariners, New York Yankees, and Minnesota Twins in Major League Baseball.
Pineda grew raised in the Dominican Republic’s Yaguate. His father works as a welder, while his mother is a hairdresser. Pineda is the eldest of five siblings.
Pineda was diagnosed with a partial rupture of his ulnar collateral ligament as well as a flexor strain in his right elbow on July 14. Prior to the injury, Pineda had a record of 8–4 with a 4.39 ERA. On July 18, he underwent Tommy John surgery, thereby ending his season. After the season, he became a free agent.
Pineda’s family is Dominican Republic-based. He shared a room with Navarro, who had become the Mariners’ bullpen coach when pitching for them in 2011.
Pineda was accused of driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol on August 20, 2012, while in injury rehab in Tampa, Florida.
The date was February 20, 2013. Pineda pled not guilty to driving while intoxicated. He was fined $500, sentenced to a year on probation, and required to attend DUI school as well as perform 50 hours of community service.
Unfortunately, there is no information indicating that Michael Pineda is in a relationship, and so it is assumed that, as of 2022, he is not dating anyone.
