Kolten Kaha Wong is a Major League Baseball second baseman for the Milwaukee Brewers. He formerly played for the Cardinals in St. Louis. In 2013, he made his MLB debut. Wong is a left-handed batter who also throws right-handed.
Wong, who grew up in Hilo, Hawaii, played baseball for Kamehameha Hawaii High School and the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
Wong was drafted in the first round of the 2011 Major League Baseball draft by the St. Louis Cardinals, and he was promoted to the major leagues two years later.
In May of 2014, he was named the National League Rookie of the Month. The Cardinals declined Wong’s player option for the 2021 season in the summer of 2020, making him a free agent for the first time in his career.

Kolten Wong is the son of Kolen “Kaha” Wong, who played collegiate baseball at USC and spent two years in Class-A with the Reno Silver Sox.
The elder Wong returned to Hilo, Hawaii, to raise his family after hitting.280 in 157 games. As a baseball coach in Hawaii, he became well-known.
Rather than pursuing permanent employment, he accepted whatever positions would provide him the greatest time to teach Kolten the game and the importance of working out, which he emphasized on a daily basis.
Kolten Wong eventually became friends with B. J. Penn, a mixed martial artist and UFC star, whose father, Jay Dee Penn, became friends with Kaha Wong.
