Bookseller William Reese was an American bookseller and founder of the William Reese Company.
The William Reese Company began awarding Fellowships in the Print Culture of the Americas in 1998 to support research in the field of American book history.
In 1979, Reese established the William Reese Company in New Haven, Connecticut.
Over the next four decades, Reese’s became the industry leader in Americana, with the best goods and collections coming through his hands.
Hundreds of catalogs of American materials were published by the company. Reese also helped shape the Americana collections at Yale’s Beinecke Rare Book & Manuscript Library.
