Brandon Norman Lowe is a Major League Baseball second baseman for the Tampa Bay Rays in the United States.
Lowe was a member of the baseball team at Nansemond River High School in Suffolk, Virginia.
He was chosen first-team all-state, first-team all-region, and first-team all-district that year, after leading Nansemond to a district championship as a junior and a district title as a senior.
He pledged to play college baseball for the Maryland Terrapins at the University of Maryland, College Park.
Lowe tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee two days before his rookie year’s first game, forcing him to redshirt and sit out the entire season.
Lowe was awarded third-team all-ACC as a redshirt freshman after leading the Maryland Terrapins in batting average (.348), on-base percentage (.464), and slugging percentage (.464).
Lowe led the Terrapins in hits, walks, runs, and doubles as a sophomore, while also placing second in runs batted in.
Lowe broke his fibula two days before the 2015 Major League Baseball draft while playing for the Terrapins in an NCAA super regional loss to the Virginia Cavaliers.
Lowe began the 2017 season with the Charlotte Stone Crabs before being promoted to the Montgomery Biscuits midway through the year.
In 90 games with Charlotte, he hit .311/.403/.524 with nine home runs and 46 RBIs, earning him the Florida State League MVP.
He hit .253/.270/.389 in 23 games with the Montgomery Biscuits. He played in the Arizona Fall League after the season and was picked to play in the Fall Stars Game.
