Brad Michael Keller (born July 27, 1995) is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Major League Baseball Kansas City Royals (MLB).
Keller attended Flowery Branch High School in Flowery Branch, Georgia, where he was a member of the Falcons baseball team. He was selected in the eighth round of the 2013 MLB draft by the Arizona Diamondbacks. He had committed to play collegiate baseball at Presbyterian College, but instead elected to sign with the Diamondbacks.
Keller was picked by the Cincinnati Reds in the Rule 5 draft on December 14, 2017, and promptly transferred to the Kansas City Royals for monetary considerations.
Keller was a member of the Royals’ 25-man roster in 2018 and made his MLB debut on Opening Day, March 29, tossing an inning of scoreless relief against the Chicago White Sox; he struck out the first player he saw, Adam Engel.
He pitched in both the bullpen and the rotation, leading the club in ERA (3.08) and victories (tied for first on the squad) (9). In 140+13 innings, he struck out 96 hitters.
Keller was suspended for five games by Major League Baseball on April 19, 2019, after it was determined that he deliberately threw a fastball that struck Tim Anderson of the Chicago White Sox.
It is assumed that Brad does not have any children currently, He has always strived to keep his personal life out of public scrutiny.
