Jackson Kowar is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Kansas City Royals of Major League Baseball (MLB).
He was picked in the 40th round of the 2015 Major League Baseball draft by the Detroit Tigers, but he chose to attend the University of Florida instead.
Kowar pitched in 12 games as a freshman in 2016, going 3-0 with a 3.37 ERA in 34+23 innings thrown.
In May, he was forced to retire due to a medical issue unrelated to baseball.

Kowar earned the save in the championship game of the 2017 College World Series, pitching 1+23 scoreless innings and clinching Florida’s national championship.
Kowar earned All-SEC Second Team honors as a junior in 2018.
In 3 1/3 rescue innings against the Guardians, Kowar gave seven runs on 11 hits, his sixth straight outing of surrendering five or more runs dating back to last season in the Majors.
The Guardians pounced on Kowar when he found too much of the plate too many times. And when Kowar did get ahead in the count, he was unable to finish the at-bats with his secondary stuff.
